Simona Zucca - Biohacking Her Metabolism through OMAD and High-Protein Keto Diet

Today in our blog, Simona Zucca, the founder of Trust No Carb. Simona's Blog is a fantastic collection of low-carb experiences, tantalizing recipes, and excellent keto products available in the Netherlands. As a fellow biohacker, Simona has explored various diets, including keto and intermittent fasting, for many years. Her latest biohacks have been OMAD, or one meal a day, and high-protein keto dieting.

In this episode, Simona shares her experience with OMAD and high-protein keto diets, explaining why she decided to try them and how they affected her body and mind. She discusses the benefits she experienced, such as increased energy and focus, and provides valuable insights into how these diets worked for her.

Simona loves to experiment with different diets and eating styles. This year, she has already tried two different diets, OMAD and high-protein keto. She is actively exploring these diets and their effects on her body and mind.

OMAD, as Simona explains, stands for one meal a day. She started this diet because she was struggling to lose weight, and the number on the scale never seemed to budge. Simona knew that fasting could help with weight loss, and because she loves a good challenge, she decided to try OMAD.

One of the benefits of OMAD is that you get to choose when you eat. Simona usually eats after 24 hours of fasting, but you can customize your meal schedule to fit your lifestyle. For example, you can decide to eat at noon one day and then choose to eat earlier or later the following day.

Simona's Routine

Simona shares how she started with OMAD. Because she finishes work at 5 pm and is busy with other activities, she found it easier to use this time for her experiment. She uses this time to prepare a proper meal after work, which worked well for her.

Simona explains that the beginning of OMAD was difficult, especially around 2 or 3 pm, when her mind would crave food. But with perseverance and practice, she eventually adapted and found it much easier to continue with the diet.

Overall, Simona provides valuable insights and tips for anyone interested in trying OMAD or a high-protein keto diet. Her experience and experimentation can help guide others in finding the best approach for their individual goals and lifestyles.

Have you ever been so hungry that you couldn't think straight? Simona Zucca, a biohacker and founder of Trust No Carb, knows that feeling all too well. During her experiments with various diets, she found herself in some challenging situations where she had to rely on her own ingenuity to stay satiated and focused.

To combat hunger pangs during fasting periods, Simona focused on staying hydrated. She drank plenty of water, black coffee, and tea, and also supplemented with bone broth, which is low in calories but packed with vitamins that support fasting. These strategies helped her to keep her appetite at bay without breaking her fast.

Physically, Simona felt energetic and active during her fasting periods, and was able to take on task after task. However, she did experience some mental fatigue in the evenings. During work hours, she was more focused and productive, which she attributes to the benefits of fasting.

OMAD

For her one meal a day, Simona focused on protein-rich foods such as chicken or fish, along with vegetables like broccoli, tomatoes, and cucumbers. She also added healthy fats like olives and extra virgin olive oil to her meal. While experimenting with OMAD, she also added some carbs in the form of basmati rice, which she found to be a better option than pasta.

High Keto Protein

Simona continued her regular workout routine during her experiments with fasting and OMAD, and found that she had just as much energy and strength as she did when she ate breakfast. Currently, she is following a high-protein keto diet, which is a version of the traditional keto diet with more balanced macros. This involves getting around 60% of her calories from fats and 30% from protein.

Simona is focused on clean eating and chooses high-quality products like olives, extra virgin olive oil, and Funky Fat Chocolates. She also prefers lean meats like chicken and a variety of vegetables, including cauliflower rice, which she enjoys topped with cream cheese, olive oil, and Parmesan.

While she acknowledges that she can't be perfect every day, Simona is happy with the progress she's made and the insights she's gained from her experiments with different diets. She encourages others to be open-minded and to try different approaches to see what works best for their bodies and lifestyles.
